Privacy Policy

Snaglog ("Snaglog", "we", "us") is a shared notes and posts tool. This policy explains what information we collect when you use Snaglog, how it is used, and the choices you have. If your organization has additional policies governing internal tools, those may also apply.

Information we collect

• Account information from Google Sign-In. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google via our authentication provider, Supabase Auth. We do not receive your Google password.
• Content you submit. The titles, text, tags, and folder names of any posts you create or edit, and the text of any comments you post.
• Profile information you choose to add. A nickname, a gender icon (male, female, or LGBTQ+) you select, and an optional contact link — used to credit you as the author of the posts you post and shown on your public profile page. A nickname and icon are required before you can use the app; the contact link is optional.
• Social activity. Which posts you like or dislike, which posts you comment on and the text of those comments, and which accounts you follow or are followed by — used to show like/dislike and comment counts, power your "Following" feed, and show follower counts and your profile's list of posts.
• Notifications. A record of activity directed at you (someone followed you, or liked or commented on your post) so we can show you an in-app notification. Like and comment notifications show a count only — we don't retain or display a separate entry for every individual like.
• Reputation / badges. The total number of likes your posts have received, which determines the badge icon (set by an administrator) shown next to your name.
• Basic usage data. Timestamps of when notes are created or updated, and which account created them, so changes can be attributed and reviewed.

How we use this information

• To authenticate you and keep your session signed in.
• To let you and other authorized users create, search, and read posts.
• To attribute posts and comments to their author via your nickname and icon, and to power the follow, like, dislike, comment, feed, notification, and badge features.
• To support the admin review workflow (approving, rejecting, or moderating submitted notes).
• To keep the service secure and prevent misuse.

Your nickname, gender icon, contact link, follower/following counts, comments, and badge are visible to other signed-in users on your profile page or alongside the posts and comments you post. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your information to third parties.

Where data is stored

Notes and account data are stored in a Supabase-hosted Postgres database with Row Level Security policies controlling access. Authentication is handled by Supabase Auth using Google as the identity provider. Supabase acts as our data processor and only accesses data as needed to provide the service.

Sharing

We share information only with the service providers that make Snaglog work (currently Google, for sign-in, and Supabase, for hosting and authentication), and only to the extent needed to operate the app. We do not share your notes or account information with any other third party, except where required by law.

Data retention and deletion

We retain your account information and notes for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time using the contact details below; we will remove your personal information except where we are required to retain records for legal or security reasons.

Your choices

• You can sign out at any time using the "Sign out" button in the app.
• You can ask us to correct, export, or delete your personal information.
• You can revoke Snaglog's access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account permissions page.

Children's privacy

Snaglog is intended for internal, workplace use by adults and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above.
